Abstract :
With the increasing demand of wireless services, users expect better Quality of Service and performance. Quality of Service provides the level of assurance for the data delivery over the network. In this paper, to provide the best Quality of Service a seamless proactive vertical handoff scheme is used. The Vertical Handoff management scheme controls the Handoff process. Handoff procedures used in this method will be performed only, if the network satisfies the Quality of Service decision procedures. Before initiating the handoff process, this method checks the Quality of Service metrics such as bandwidth and delay of the neighboring nodes of the destination network and selects the best quality network. This work is simulated in NS-2.29 network simulator. From the simulation results we achieved better performance.
