Abstract :
An incidence on the road always causes safety concern and traffic congestion on the road. In order to improve safety and convenience on the road, the Incidence Warning System (IWS) is designed to broadcast warning messages from source vehicles to other vehicles in the system. After received the warning message, users can change direction to avoid the incidence vicinity. In this work, we propose an algorithm which is designed to classify and assign roles to vehicles in the system by using the vehicles´ relationship with the incidence. Our proposed technique can be adapted in the selective broadcast mechanism for dissemination warning messages to the vehicles which are potentially affected by the incidence only. Performance of proposed scheme is evaluated by several indicators such as received packet ratio and efficiency of channel utilization.
