Abstract :
One of the important steps in making ceramic process is to maintain the water content in clay that can keep vapours´ and start to dries. During ceramic drying process, many problems have been occurred. Some of these are caused by thermal expansion but are manifested because of the stresses generated during the removal of water. All of this situation result in defects of varying severity in the finished product, so great care must be taken to avoid them. Drying clay is always accompanied by shrinkage. In this work we investigated drying problems of large-scale sculpture and introduced new techniques to overcome the cracking.
