Abstract :
This paper presents Cognitive Radio (CR), an emergent technology, as an alternative solution to the fixed allocation of frequency to licensed users. Indeed, CR Networks avoid wasting spectrum resources by allowing unlicensed users to access a band of frequencies. However, these users should not cause harmful interferences to the licensed users. To reach this goal, CR Networks´ users have to exhibit a set of required features and to implement functions of cognitive radio systems. This paper focuses on CR sensing techniques. It derives a set of requirements, presents, criticizes spectrum sensing existing techniques and proposes a Radio Frequency Fingerprint detection framework.
