Abstract :
Artificial bee colony algorithm (ABC) is a relatively new optimization technique which has been shown to be competitive to other population-based algorithms. In this work, we propose an improved solution search equation in scout bee phase. In addition, the initial population is generated by piecewise Logistic equation to enhance the global convergence. Experiments are conducted on a set of 6 benchmark functions. The results demonstrate good performance of the improved ABC in solving complex numerical optimization problems when compared with other modified ABC algorithms.
