Abstract :
The possibility to obtain a natural periodic satellite formation is investigated at the special inclinations. This paper shows a quasi-periodic formation under J2 perturbation at a special inclination, which is called the Subcritical Inclination (i = 49.1°/130.9° ). Its correctness is proved and formation design is studied at this inclination. Numerical simulations are performed to verify the proposed quasi-periodic relative orbit.
