Abstract :
A remote monitoring system of smoke images is implemented by the GPRS communications and embedded technology. Some respects of the system are described in details such as the overall framework structure of the system, the hardware configurations, the embedded terminal software platform and the programs developed for both the terminals and the server. With this system, the smoke images of scattered terminals can be collected respectively and sent by GPRS wirelessly, and then they are received and analyzed in data processing centre. The system is very helpful to supervising the scattered smoke pollution sources such as the coal-burning thermal plants and the district-heating plants.
