Abstract :
An important element in the proper functioning of a power line is to ensure proper maintenance of all its components. This requires their appropriate diagnosis. It is a difficult task to evaluate the condition of the different elements such as supporting structures, insulators, conductors in a continuous manner. The existing diagnostic methods are lengthy and expensive. The authors propose the use of image processing methods in the CAD environment for the diagnosis of the elements of overhead power lines, in particular, electrical and protective equipment.
