Abstract
The article presents an idea for determining the cost of failure caused by winter weather loads (extreme wet snow) for the Life Cycle Cost (LCC) analysis of power lines. The methodology is useful for an analysis of the various operational scenarios of maintenance power transmission lines (existing or designed). It is based on the statistical analysis of meteorological measurements, using models dedicated to power line icing.
