  • Abstract
    A wireless energy transfer system for delivering power to the mobile portable devices in confined space using an optical antenna, a GaAs solar cell, and a DCDC converter is presented in this paper. The optical antenna fabricated with the solar cell, which can be embedded in the mobile device, will expedite the charging process due to the plasmonic electric field enhancement effect. DC-DC conversion circuits are designed to generate a required DC voltage from the solar cell. This system will achieve the safe and efficient wireless power transfer system in confined space. In this paper, the result is estimated to have 40 times more efficient energy transfer than the optical wireless energy transfer system without the optical antenna array.
