  • Abstract
    This paper presents recent researches on extended applications of LineROVer Technology, a mobile robot platform working on line sections without obstacles of overhead transmission lines. The de-icing robot has been applied in several transmission networks. The de-icing tool is improved and image transmission system is added according to the experiences and requirements in applications. Visual and infrared inspection is enhanced with a wireless image transmission system based on COFDM technology. A foreign suspender clearing tool is developed, which could execute both clawing and cutting actions on one mobile end point. A magnetic energy harvesting mechanism is experimented and optimized. DC output voltages of 48V with DC current near 1.14A are obtained in steady-state at primary current of 200A. And some other new tools are being developed. They are all practical and valuable and have a good application prospect.
