Abstract
Dynamic spectrum access in the cognitive radio network can make use of spectrum holes by chance. It can improve the efficiency of spectrum utilization without degrading the primary users (PUs). We propose a new method to assign channels in multi-hop cognitive radio networks. First of all, we choose a reasonable spectrum perception approach to sense if the PUs use the channel in each time slot. The transmission ranges of secondary users (SUs) are determined according to the PUs. In our method, the SUs can not only use the channels when the PUs not send messages via it, but it can also use the channel with the PUs at the same time as long as the cover scope of the transmission nodes is appropriately controlled. Simulations results show that our method can raise the successful connectivity probability from one SU to another SU without interfering PUs.
