  • Abstract
    Cascaded H-bridge multilevel inverters have been very popular in medium-voltage applications. The hybrid CHB multilevel inverter, using dc supplies with different voltages, is an improvement of cascaded H-bridge multilevel inverters. The main advantage of hybrid CHB multilevel inverters is the optimization of levels with a minimum number of power supplies. But in some occasions, there can be only one dc supply. So this paper realizes it in the hybrid CHB inverter by using a high frequency link. This method has the advantages of low total harmonic distortion and small volume. The circuit of the inverter, power distribution and control strategy are deeply analyzed; also principle diagram of control circuit is given. At last, the correctness of this converter is verified through simulation tests.
