Abstract :
The Long Term Evolution (LTE) has been proposed for supporting higher bandwidth applications and large amount of users by installing many base stations known as eNodeBs. However, in an area, users may associate with some particular eNodeBs which may cause the unbalanced load distribution. In this paper, a heuristic load balance algorithm called Ripple Algorithm has been proposed. The algorithm is designed as a distributed algorithm without global knowledge assumption. The results show that the algorithm can perform well in many testing scenarios with low complexity.
