Abstract :
With the advent of smart phone technology, businesses are finding new ways to update the current and potential customers about their services. One of the most popular services is to provide wait time information at the business. In the medical domain, patients have to wait for a long time at a medical facility. This is even more frustrating at an emergency facility. In this paper, we propose a smart phone based service to optimize travel time to a medical facility utilizing patient wait time, service time, traffic status, patient reviews, patient perception of the facility and Global Positioning System (GPS) data. Using these parameters, ranking of all nearby hospitals can be calculated to help the patient in deciding her choice of hospital.
