Abstract :
Seismocardiogram (SCG) is a complex; nonstationary signal used for pathological analysis of cardiac vibratory activity and reflects mechanical aspects of the heart contraction and blood ejection. It is a continuous noninvasive measurement of the heart activity in three dimensions. It measures the accelerations onto the chest wall by the heart through its movement, plotted as a function of time. In this paper, collected data from a particular device are thoroughly analyzed to identify the critical points. The points which can be consistently identified have been selected from the SCG waveforms are aortic opening and closing points, and atrioventricular opening and closing points. Based on these points which are the 6 parameters including time intervals and amplitude measurements, two equations are generated and can be used for heart condition diagnostic purposes.
