Abstract :
The World Health Organization, in 2002 showed different studies about adverse events where they analyze the data of the hospitalized patients. This study refers the importance of the notification systems and the preventive actions that it should take in different countries. In Colombia the vigilance process of medical devices started in 2005 and take strength in 2008. Additionally, the accreditation process in (2012) focuses on user-centered care and family, and the continuous quality improvement and the risk approach. In order to comply with the standards of this process, this job aims to analyze, categorize and implement a risk matrix oriented to biomedical equipments that can generate two high complexity level (A and B) and in different areas of operation. Which analyzes the most common failures as electrical, biological, mechanicals and others; the occurrence with the risks presented either daily, monthly or yearly and the consequences that these faults can lead to the equipment (failure, malfunction bad working, etc) as the patient (die, burns etc). Since this is an important tool that allowed the clinics to understand, analyze and prevent possible risks that might arise before they occur. As results were analyzed 1401 equipments from the clinic A and 425 from the clinic B, which were grouped by family and deepened in 144 equipments that were most relevant to each area. With this information is generated maintenances plans with accomplishment to the year 2012 with percentages of 75% and 95%; verification 89% and 96% through the list of controls; electrical safety tests 81% and 99% and staff training with 254 attendees users, avoiding this incident or adverse event in Hospitals.
