Abstract
In this paper, the manufacture of a dental training device for taking impressions in children with cleft lip and palate is showed. The proposal work was to build a simulator with features of an infant of 0-6 months of age who present maxillofacial malformation using size and contexture of a real baby. For this purpose, two techniques for reconstruction of the head of the model were described, and then from this, the molds for the rotomoulding manufacture were designed. One palate was a unilateral and the second one was a bilateral cleft. For manufacturing of the devices, a plasticized PVC formulation was proposed. This paper describes the methodology used for the design and manufacture of the components of dental training devices and their respective molds.
