Abstract :
In this paper, we propose a buffer-aware (BA) resource allocation scheme in the uplink transmissions of Long Term Evolution (LTE) networks. The proposed scheme allocates resources based on the knowledge of buffer statuses and channel conditions to reduce the waste of system resources and improve the aggregate throughput. We conducted simulations to compare the performance of our proposed BA scheme with that of other approaches. The results illustrate that our scheme can effectively improve the aggregate throughput and decrease the system resource waste in comparison with other approaches, and thus enhance the overall LTE uplink efficiency.
