Abstract :
This paper presents a combination of Forward Error Correction (FEC) and error detection for UHF RFID transmission based on the EPCglobal protocol. A simple detection method which uses the spreading sequences in the RFID protocol is considered. The number of unreliable bits n taken into account in the detection scheme influences the packet error rate (PER) and the false negative rate (FNratio). The performance of the detection for varying n is compared.
