Abstract :
In this letter, it is proposed to miniaturize and dual-band the planar triangular monopole antenna (PTMA) by its dielectric and stub loadings for application in GSM900 and GSM1800 mobile systems. An equivalent circuit is devised for the antenna, which explains its behavior as a dual-band antenna. Its equivalent circuit and geometrical configuration are designed by the available simulation software. A prototype model of the proposed PTMA is fabricated and measured. Its performance as obtained by computer simulation, measurement, and equivalent circuit as return loss, radiation efficiency, gain, and radiation patterns are compared with very good agreement.
