Abstract :
Recently, Color Filter Array (CFA) patterns are applied popularly in a digital camera. The CFA is a mosaic-like filter which only allows one primary color to be passed and captured by the sensor at each pixel, in order to save the cost. CFA will produce a mosaic-like color image and we have to use demosaicking algorithm to recover the original color image. In this paper, we propose a new method which uses Quaternion Fourier Transform (QFT) and low pass filter to do color image demosaicking. The proposed method is tested on several common CFA patterns and the efficacy of the proposed method is also demonstrated.
