Abstract
In this paper analysis shows that the performance of modified zero crossing count method for QRS complex detection with respect to traditional one. We test the performance for noisy and baseline shifted ECG record also. Furthermore simplicity and excellent performance of this method enhances its necessity to design in hardware level. We propose architecture for simple, portable, low cost QRS detector by implementing our modification in verilog HDL. The generated source has been simulated for validation and tested on software Verilogger Pro6.5. Signal data available from MIT-BIH Arrhythmia Database is collected to test proposed digital system by using test bench software. We have compared our device output with matlab output and calculate the percentage error is at about 0.09%.
