Abstract
This paper is concerned with experimental and theoretical study of scattered powers from a moving aircraft. First, an algorithm for computing scattered powers from a three dimensional target is proposed. The proposed algorithm based on the ray tracing method includes two strong points to compute electromagnetic field intensity in the large area. One of them is to discretize a target by faces constituting triangular or rectangular shapes. Another one is to shorten the ray searching time by using a representative point selected on each face. Scattered powers from a three dimensional target are shown as a numerical example. Next, received powers from an aircraft flying around Tokyo bay area are shown as experimental results. The received powers are obtained by using the terrestrial digital broadcasting in Japan. Finally, it is shown that the proposed algorithm is one of the suitable numerical technique by comparing the numerical result with experimental one.
