Abstract
Color space transformation is a basic element of image processing and a necessary factor in real world observation through equipments. Few commonly used color space models are RGB, HSI, CIELAB, SCT Intension of color space transformation is to replicate the original information from the real world without changing the actual information. In order to reproduce the originality of the real image and to extract the required information according to the application, various color spaces models are used, hence the requirement for color space transformation plays a vital role in the world of technology. HSI color space model is designed to match human intuition. In this paper, RGB (Red Green Blue) color space is transformed to HSI (Hue Saturation Intensity) color space using a numerical method iteration technique for minimizing the maximum error which further reduces the transformation time and improves the linearity of the system.
