  • Abstract
Generalized Multi-Protocol Label Switching (GMPLS)is an emerging technology which ensures reliable delivery of Internet services with high transmission speed and lower delays. High-bandwidth multicast applications are becoming widely popular, further driving the requirement for optical networks to support all types of traffic applications. Apart from this, a significant amount of data loss, packet loss, delay, jitter, and throughput associated with bandwidth congestion exist. Due to lower network delay, efficient forwarding mechanism, scalability and predictable performance of services provided by GMPLS technology makes it more suitable for implementing realtime applications such as video conferencing. The proposed method is an Open Shortest Path First-Traffic Engineering by using Integer Linear Program to find out the best possible path and a new technique has been introduced for multicast traffic for advance reservation scheme and reduces signaling mechanism for GMPLS network. The performance analysis of Multicast traffic in GMPLS network with respect to video and VoIP traffic and simulated by OPNET modeler.
