Abstract :
In this paper design of microstrip patch antenna with reduced (destructive) ground plane is proposed. Parametric study is carried out by changing the gap distance between patch & destructive ground plane, strip line width and feed position of microstrip line with respect to radiating patch and its effect on performance parameter of MSA is observed. Design is simulated using IE3D software based on MoM. Measured and simulated return loss bandwidths are 895MHz and 825.5MHz respectively. Obtained radiation pattern is in broadside direction. Radiation and Antenna Efficiency are 77.32 % and 76.6 %. Other parameters are within the specified limit make MSA suitable for Biotelemetry applications.
