Abstract
This paper describes the implementation of an UWB circular polarized antenna system based on a dual-polarized patch antenna in the frequency range of 3.5-4.5 GHz and an external quadrature hybrid. The dual-polarized patch antenna offers a broadband operation thanks to the cavity-backed square slot ring feeding technique. The quadrature hybrid provides a 90-degree phase shift between the input ports of the patch antenna over the targeted frequency range. Simulation and measurements show good UWB performances for the presented structure.
