Abstract
Precision coaxial airline electrical characteristics can be derived from their physical properties such as physical dimensions and material properties. Characterizing a precision airline requires accurate physical measurements of the airline´s internal diameter, lengths of outer and center conductors, pin depth, surface finish and material properties. Characteristic impedance, which is calculated from dimensional measurements, is an extremely important end result. Traceable, physical dimensional measurements of 0.800 mm coaxial outer conductor bore diameters and outer diameters of center conductors are presented. The development of these traceable 0.800 mm coaxial airline impedance standards arose from the need to support Vector Network Analyzer coaxial measurements from 70 kHz to 145 GHz[1].
