Abstract :
Dialogue system is the conversational system enables the man to communicate with computer using natural language. Many conversational systems were developed until today in many areas like Health Care, Personal Assistant, Appointment Scheduling, Restaurant Guide, Museum Guide, Tutoring System, etc. This article discusses various Dialogue Systems and the methodologies used to generate the utterances. This paper also discusses the Ripple-Down Rule technique to acquire knowledge from experts which can be implemented as a module in the conversational system in order to update the knowledge base and the pros and cons of ripple down rule is briefly discussed.
