Abstract
Recently a monopulse tracking radar system has been proposed which utilizes widely separated multiple-input multiple-output techniques. Such a system is advantageous because it can utilize frequency, spatial and polarization diversity to mitigate angular glint. The use of several transmitters increases the amount of energy in the radar reflections from the target and clutter, but the effect of this increased energy is unclear. This work studies the effects of the MIMO paradigm on the monopulse angle estimation error.
