Abstract
MIMO radar is a promising concept as demonstrated by many studies, but has been rarely performed with real signals, while hardware defaults may have a significant impact on performance. At ONERA, we have had the opportunity to make experiments in real conditions on a MIMO-capable radar testbed, making it possible to estimate performances of MIMO waveforms and to exhibit the influence of hardware defaults. In this paper, we first present the multifunction radar testbed and the experimental campaigns we have led. Then, we expose significant results and we introduce figures of merit which allow us to show the resemblance to the theory and the performance of each waveform.
