  • Abstract
Recently some private companies have unveiled their plans to launch a fleet of spacecraft to hunt for small asteroids and mine them. This would include mining of gold and platinum. According to an article published at popularmechanics.com for instance the asteroid 1986 DA is a metallic asteroid made up of iron, nickel, gold and platinum what values range between $6 and $7 trillion [1]. Therefore the legal aspects of space mining shall become very important soon.
