Abstract :
This paper presents the design and implementation of an Ultra Wide Band and High Efficiency Multilayer Cavity Backed 16×16 Planar Array for X-Band RADAR application. Array has been designed to operate for 1GHz Bandwidth from 8.8 GHz to 9.8 GHz and this can be customized up to 2GHz bandwidth. Extensive analysis has been carried out and parameters like Gain, VSWR, Side Lobe Level (SLL) has been optimized as per the technical requirements. To verify the 16×16 array performance, a 1×16 linear array has been fabricated and experimentally verified. The measured results have good agreement with simulated one.
