Abstract
Airborne SAR operating in the VHF/UHF band has shown promising results for wide-area surveillance of ground moving targets. Both targets in the open as well as concealed by foliage may be detected in a robust manner by changing detection with single channel. This manner has lower cost but only limited indication. To improve its performance, we discuss the characteristics of moving target in the azimuth sub-look image. These characteristics include phase and amplitude of moving target, which corresponds to the azimuth shift motion and energy variation in respectively. The simulation and real results show that the change detection of GMTI can be improved by utilizing these characteristics.
