Abstract :
We propose second-order-polarization-mode-dispersion (SOPMD) estimation technique for polarization-multiplexed coherent single-carrier system using data-aided channel estimation and PMD model analysis. The technique is demonstrated for 25-Gbaud QPSK and 16-QAM systems, to accurately estimate various amount of SOPMD.
