Abstract
As a typical knowledge-intensive business services industry, software enterprises´ competitiveness is impacted profoundly by innovation efficiency. According to the characteristic of software industry, considering R&D investment and enterprises´ scale as inputs and the number of patents as outputs, the paper builds a evaluation system. And then based on DEA, a model is built to evaluate the innovation efficiency of software industry. After that, empirical research was done on the innovation efficiency of 72 software enterprises between 2004 and 2010. The result shows that the innovation efficiency of service enterprises is higher than that of software enterprises.
