Abstract
By analyzing the heat balance equation of the heated wires, the theoretical formula of heat transfer coefficient including critical anti-icing current was obtained. The convection heat transfer was calculated through experimental study in the icing environmental condition. The criteria correlation of the Nusselt (Nu) and Reynolds (Re) numbers under the certain environment temperature with different wind speeds was established. A comparison between the experimental and calculation results from the correlation criterion shows they were in reasonable agreement with maximum error below 5%, and also the correlation criterion is compared with certain empirical correlations found in the literature.
