The Research Achievements, Issues and Strategies on the Study in Domestic of the Urban Development in Modern Swatow

In recent years, the research of modern Swatow are very fruitful from a humanities perspective but in the same time lack of physical research on the city and the buildings. On the other hand, although the field work done by the scholars of urban planning and architectural history have built up a good foundation for deeper study, there are still many key issues left unresolved. This article will review the research achievements and the left problems in the study of the urban construction in modern Swatow, put forward suggestions, broad the research field for the future study in a wider historic view.
