  • Abstract
    Protecting innovation is an important issue for sustaining economic growth, intellectual property for defining innovation is therefore becoming an emerging research topic. Patent as a type of intellectual property plays importantly in protecting innovation can possibly be used for predicting infringement probability if conventional intellectual property service can be extended innovatively. This study aims to discuss the impact of patent infringement on innovation as well as develop a new model for prediction of patent infringement probability, which can be utilized as an innovative service for protecting intellectual assets in levels of company, industry and country. Finally, a framework of innovative intellectual property service based on infringement probability forecast are provided to fulfill the need of service management as well as extend intellectual property research to service innovation.
