  • Abstract
Axial Flux Permanent Magnet Motors have several unique features such as high torque generation at low speed, compact structure and higher torque density in comparison with their Radial Flux counterparts. On the other hand PM demagnetization and rotor eccentricity are of their drawbacks which should be considered in the application and maintenance. In this paper a method for detection of PM Demagnetization is presented. The proposed method is based on the Back-EMF Voltage analysis of several defected cases. An ARX model is trained such that to determine the flux generated by the defected PM. The model prediction ability is checked by some validation data.
