Abstract :
A new compact, dualband Zeroth-Order Resonant (ZOR) antenna with proper gain, improved efficiency and widened impedance bandwidth is presented. The Co-Planar Waveguide (CPW) feed is used to simplify fabrication process, neglect via holes and facilitates shunt elements mounting as well as series on a surface. T-junction discontinuity makes the proposed antenna distinctive. Circuit model of the structure and dispersion diagram demonstrated that it occupies CRLH features. By means of the integrity property of the T-junction, antenna´s efficiency is increased up to 70%. The tapered line is employed to improve bandwidth up to 30%, by creating an incremental step in the main line of the T-junction. These characteristics are verified by EM simulator and compared with experimental results.
