Abstract :
It´s impossible to imagine life nowadays without the use of electrical energy. However, most people don´t imagine the impacts of its generation and transmission. Especially the transmission involves many impacts such as vegetal suppression, scaring the wildlife, habitat alteration, inducing erosion, losses and limitations of agricultural productive areas. That´s why the construction and operation of transmission´s lines must be planned and submitted to an impact analysis. This article aims to compare the procedure of impact analysis of transmission lines both in Europe and in Brazil. Therefore, it was analyzed the European Union (EU) and the Brazilian legislation, comparing the criteria and scope of the environmental analysis methodology used by each country.
