Abstract :
In order to achieve cost reductions, simplified operations and increased scalability in the IP traffic transport, a challenging approach is a dynamic multi-layer transport network architecture integrating a connection-oriented packet transport network (e.g., MPLS-TP) and a wavelength switched optical network (WSON) being handled by a unified control plane based on the GMPLS/PCE architectures. This paper presents the architectural design, implementation and experimental performance of the first lab trial of a GMPLS-controlled MPLS-TP/WSON transport network carried out in the ADRENALINE testbed.
