Abstract :
Underwater sensor network faces the challenges against the nodes placement and the energy consumption in a clustering architecture. The aim of this paper is to improve this clustering architecture by defining an effective cluster head selection mechanism with effect of node localization. The aim of this work is to present a novel architecture for the cluster head selection. In this work, each cluster is defined with distributed load specification. To distribute the load, two cluster heads called primary and secondary cluster heads and both will be activated at same time. The primary cluster head will communicate with high energy nodes and secondary cluster head will communicate with low energy nodes. The novelty in the work is also defined in terms of cluster head selection procedure. The obtained results shows that the presented work has improved the network life significantly as well as the throughput is also increased.
