Abstract
The growth in the economy, increased power consumption, a large share of export and production of energy resources have led to a new approach of energy sector. To keep and support the growth of the economy in the country requires the introduction of new generation plants, coating consumption in general. Therefore, the creation, the development of the wholesale and retail electricity markets in Mongolia and its functioning and organization highly relevant. Presents a detailed description of the overall structure of markets in electricity and system linked to the electricity trade. Most attention is paid to the wholesale electricity market, which includes the electricity market, the ancillary services market; capacity market, market for financial transmission rights, the derivatives market. In the study of these markets should be aware that they are all closely linked. Markets are interconnected by parties of the same party to the wholesale market is working, usually in several markets simultaneously. Also there is a link prices formed in each market.
