Abstract :
Previous research has examined the influence of IOR on flanker interference. We investigated whether flanker interference effects onset time of IOR in discrimination tasks. The results showed that the onset time of IOR was the opposite in incompatible and compatible condition in experiment 1. IOR effect was significant when flanker interference was incompatible at 1000ms, but the facilitation effect was significant at 1000ms when flanker interference was compatible. The results of experiment 2 showed that IOR effect was significant when flanker interference was incompatible at 1000ms. The results indicated earlier onset time of IOR when flanker interference was incompatible with target, indicating that flanker interference makes the spatiotemporal correspondence between the cue and target integration.
