Abstract :
The theory of cyclotron autoresonance maser (CARM) is formulated in a free electron laser (FEL) like fashion. We get a one-to-one correspondence between the equations describing the two devices and show that the wealth of scaling relations developed for the FEL evolution can be exploited to describe the CARM dynamics too.
