Abstract :
Geosynchronous Synthetic Aperture Radar (GEO SAR) is a kind of Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) running on the geosynchronous orbit with a certain inclination. Because of the high orbit, it has different characters compared with the Low Earth Orbit (LEO) SAR. This paper consists of four folders: firstly, the unsuitableness of linear trajectory model in GEO SAR imaging is proved; secondly, the slant range model based on elliptic orbit is given, and the phase errors of cubic and quartic polynomial models are calculated, respectively; thirdly, the relationships of the phase error and inclination, the phase error and eccentricity in special areas are analysed; finally, the method of series reversion (MSR) is introduced in GEO SAR imaging to validate the conclusions.
