Abstract
Motivated by the desire to obtain the interior structures and layouts of buildings, we have conducted several preliminary through-the-wall imaging experiments and collected real building penetrating data on a simple room. The aperture data measurements are taken using a network analyzer. Two horn antennas are mounted on a 3D scanner that moves the antenna to obtain a synthetic aperture. This paper provides polarimetric characteristics analysis and two kinds of polarization imaging results (VV and HV). The phenomenological results obtained in this paper can be used as reference in order to optimize the performance of through-the-wall synthetic aperture radar imaging systems and identify building interior structure.
